Analytic Philosophy Today: Between Triumph and Crisis
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article discusses the question of what analytic philosophy is. There are many stereotypes about analytic philosophy that hinder its development in Russia, subject it to aggressive and inadequate criticism, and contribute to its denial or disregard. This is in stark contrast to the position that analytic philosophy occupies in the modern philosophical community. It is an undeniable fact that since the 1950s, analytic philosophy has been spreading increasingly widely around the world. The article is divided into three parts. The first one shows that most of the stereotypes about analytic philosophy have no basis in the actual practice of analytic philosophers. In the second part, some considerations on the nature of analytical philosophy are provided. The third part offers some critical remarks about the internal limitations that analytical philosophy itself faces today.
