Abstract

The paper is a study of the concept of necessity in the "later" and the "latest" philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein. Necessity is treated from the points of view of logic/mathematics distinction, and grammar/linguistics distinction. The paper states that at the end of his life Ludwig Wittgenstein approached the problem of necessity in such a way that, according to him, these two aspects are inseparable from each other.
